Holding the "Shahram Nazeri for UNESCO" Ceremony, Co-hosted by UNESCO and Mana Naqsh at Sa'adabad Palace
The "Shahram Nazeri for UNESCO" in order to appreciate the art and cultural activities of Master Shahram Nazeri, especially his collaboration in the projects of Mana Naqsh Institute with the aim of introducing and safeguarding the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Iran, attended by UNESCO officials, ambassadors and cultural counsellors, scholars, artists, and cultural managers and activists was held on Saturday, September 3, 2016, at Sa'adabad Palace.
The "Shahram Nazeri for UNESCO" in order to appreciate the art and cultural activities of Master Shahram Nazeri, especially his collaboration in the projects of Mana Naqsh Art & Culture Institute with the aim of introducing and safeguarding the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of Iran, co-hosted by UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office, Mana Naqsh, and Sa'adabad Historical Cultural Complex was held on on Saturday, September 3, 2016, in Attar Amphitheatre (Ivan Attar) of Sa'adabad Historical Cultural Complex. This ceremony was attended by Esther Kuisch Laroche, the director of UNESCO Tehran Cluster Office, UNESCO officials, ambassadors and cultural counsellors, scholars, artists, and cultural managers and activists.
At the beginning of the programme, Laroche went on stage to give a speech and while pointing out UNESCO's efforts in line with the 2003 Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of UNESCO, she appreciated and thanked the art and cultural activities of Master Shahram Nazeri and introduced the Mana Naqsh. She then gave a speech about the joint cultural projects of this institute with UNESCO and in this context, she mentioned the projects "Bang of Awe", "Language of Love (Persian poets)", "Mythical Land" and "Silk of Friendship".
After this, a summary of the "Bang of Awe" music album, sung by Shahram Nazeri and authored by Shahab Nikman, which is being produced by Mana Naqsh in order to introduce some part of Iran's tangible and intangible cultural heritage was shown. Then, a piece of music in the form of an Oud and Kamancheh duet was performed on behalf of Mana Naqsh in honour of Shahram Nazeri and dedicated to him.
In the next part of the programme, Shahram Nazeri went on stage to give a speech and perform some pieces of music. In his short speech, the chevalier of Iran's music pointed out the importance of the role of culture in Iranian identity as well as the difficulties of carrying out art and cultural activities in Iran and appreciated the cultural activities and projects of Mana Naqsh and UNESCO's role and support related to this issue. After this speech, he performed an epic piece of music with Zoorkhaneh Beat (Zarb-e Zoorkhaneh) and then he performed his popular and well-known pieces of music, including "Sheyda Shodam" accompanied by the musicians of Molavi Ensemble. In the end, Laroche awarded a certificate of appreciation on behalf of UNESCO to Master Shahram Nazeri and also to the Mana Naqsh.
