Nomination of "Ceremony of Mehregan" for Inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2024
The "Ceremony of Mehregan" intangible cultural heritage element is nominated for inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage. The "Ceremony of Mehregan" file, which has been submitted to UNESCO by Iran and Tajikistan, was prepared in collaboration with Mana Naqsh Heritage Institute.

The file "Ceremony of Mehregan", which was jointly submitted by the states parties of Iran and Tajikistan, is nominated for inscription on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. The preparation of this file was done under the management of Dr Alireza Hassanzadeh, the Chair of the Anthropological Research Centre for the Iranian Research Institute of Cultural Heritage & Tourism (RICHT) and in collaboration with Mana Naqsh Heritage Institute for Art & Culture.
The file "Ceremony of Mehregan" is to be examined by the Committee for possible inscription on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, during the 19th Session of the UNESCO's Intergovernmental Committee for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage, and if approved, it will be inscribed in 2024 on the Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage.
