Producing the "Millennium of Tanbur" Music Album in Collaboration with Mana Naqsh
The "Millennium of Tanbur" music album was recorded, produced, and edited with Tanbur playing of Farid Elhami and in collaboration with Mana Naqsh Heritage Institute. In this album, which was officially published in June 2018, 183 Tanbur Maqams from different regions of Iran, including Haqqani, Bastani, and Majazi Maqams, and contemporary works have been documented and collected.
In continuation of the cultural projects of the Mana Naqsh Heritage Institute for Art & Culture in the field of documenting the music of the Maqams and with the aim of producing a music album as a reference and documenting all the Maqams of the ancient instrument of Tanbur, Mana Naqsh reached an agreement with Farid Elhami, a Tanbur player from Sahneh region, produced the "Millennium of Tanbur" music album, and this album was officially released in June 2018, after recording, production, and editing, and was made available to those interested. The music album was produced simultaneously with the preparation of the file "Art of Crafting, Playing, Maqams, and Culture of Tanbur" which is inscribed on Iran's National ICH Inventory by Shahab Nikman.
The "Millennium of Tanbur" music album is the result of research and includes 183 Maqams of Tanbur from various regions of Iran which play a significant role in the history and use of Tanbur as an ancient and ritual instrument, including the regions of Kurds, the regions of Lurs, and Azerbaijan. In the music album, some Maqams have been documented and collected according to different narratives of different regions, and it includes Haqqani, Bastani, and Majazi Maqams, and contemporary works. The music album is presented in eight sections and is considered one of the most complete collections of Tanbur.
